Guests really value the affordable rates and great location of the St Giles – even if the latter means that it can be a bit noisy at night! The rooms vary quite a bit in size, but they’re clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet is extremely generous.
Reputed to be Europe's largest independent hotel in its category, the St Giles is housed in a modern building, with an eye catching (if not especially attractive) 1960s-style grey concrete façade. The lobby is large and split-level, with a few steps leading to the long, wood panelled reception area. The 655 medium sized guestrooms are furnished and decorated in a modern style with light wooden furniture. They are kept in good condition and are very clean. The bathrooms are also medium sized and in good condition. The hotel features two eating venues: one is a coffee shop located on the mezzanine floor and the other one – “Il Grasso” – is an Italian-style restaurant. Continental breakfast is served in the latter, while a traditional English breakfast is served in the Lazy Dog lounge bar.
